Mike Dennis is a classically-trained violinist whose boyhood love of Run DMC, Beastie Boys and Gangstarr led him to create a unique kind of string-heavy hip hop music he half-seriously refers to as Violinica. " Brilliantly written lyrics, an astonishing flow - and sharp, pinpoint production. In some ways it's like a hybrid between early Example and Franz Ferdinand at their knowing, cheeky best...the guy's also a virtuoso violinist and looper, I can't wait to hear his album." Ria Timkin is an indie-pop solo artist and multi-instrumentalist who plays as a one-person band. Naturally talented, this sultry Moscovite has followed her heart, digressing from her Master’s in Law and her passion for figure skating towards a unique blend of genres and instruments. Ria's mastery of the loop station, beat boxing, melodica, keyboards and harmonised vocal solos has earned her spots at shows across the breadth of the UK with features on national radio stations, including the BBC. Ria is on a mission that is worth embarking on. Her musical journey is well depicted in a quirky but brutally honest blog, "The Secret Plan of Ria Timkin”.
In 2016 Ria released her debut E.P. "Visitor", which received highly positive reviews from music critics. The E.P. is a strong collection of upbeat tunes, catchy rhythms, quirky lyrics and sing-along choruses that implores its listeners to live life to the fullest.
In 2017 Ria released a brand new single “Energy”. Its creative mix of electronic and acoustic sound full of alluring harmonies and haunted lines has opened the door to a new, deliciously darker side of Ria’s music. “Energy” is allegory to everything Ria stands for: feeling alive, testing your limits and wanting something so much that you almost reach the brink of obsession, because that’s when you know you are at your best.
