Music for all four of us is a passion. Pursuing it as a hobby, as a career and as a simple pass time, we all play a variety of instruments and credit a lot of the best times in our life to certain songs, and artists. Collectively we are a solid group; Leo, with a long history of song writing, on vocals and rhythm. George, who’s played bass for the best part of his life and has constant motivation to write and create more, accompanying with melodic and complex basslines. Ollie on the drum kit, adding a solid beat in the rhythm section, and having had a history of playing guitar, giving a third perspective to the melody of most songs. Lastly Alex, joining with small licks and riffs, often harmonising and working closely with Leo’s jazz-influenced chords and patterns.
Working on both Leo’s acoustic pieces from the past and our complete originals, we experiment with a variety of genres and stylistic choices- quieter, more melodic tunes as well as upbeat, jazzy and more complex songs. As a group of mates, we practise hard, and still manage to have a laugh – on and off stage. So far, we have played a number of gigs in Bristol at The Fleece and Lousiana, and smaller venues like The Thunderbolt as well, entirely for the experience and enjoyment of a solid night. We also Love playing at house parties & events in the local area. Individually, we have spent hours on the stage doing all forms of creative arts; for example Leo has experience doing solo acoustic sets and busking, constantly learning to perform as an eye-catching frontman. We like to bring energy to any stage, and want the audience to be just as involved as we are at any shape or size of venue.
As a four piece from south west, we take massive influence from the Bristol music scene – visiting to watch gigs almost weekly, from the likes of Mac DeMarco to King Krule, Gus Dapperton to Rat Boy. These artists are just some of our influences; personally, they range from Bon Iver to Stevie Wonder, The Strokes to The Growlers, and David Bowie to Loyle Carner. The list is endless here; just a few of many important names in the influence section. This selection gives us no limits either, and we are constantly experimenting with new rhythms, chords sequences and stylistic choices paying homage to our favourite artists.
