CALM is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. On average 12 men take their own life every day – more than three times the number of women. CALM works to prevent male suicide by providing services for men who are down or in crisis, and by campaigning for culture change so men feel able to seek help.

Many people who support CALM have been affected by suicide. Help Is at Hand is a great resource for people who have been bereaved. You can view it here: Help is at Hand. More resources are available at www.supportaftersuicide.org.uk.

About CALM:

• In 2015, 75% of all suicides in the UK were male. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men aged under-45 in the UK (NISRA, GRO, ONS, 2015). • Founded in 2006, CALM is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. For more information visit thecalmzone.net. • CALM’s helpline & webchat are open daily 5pm-midnight thecalmzone.net/get-help • CALM is a charity registered in England and Wales (1110621) and in Scotland (SC044347) • Contact: Rachel Stephenson, Communications Director – 07738160434 / rachel@thecalmzone.net
