The Louisiana and BYP presents:: Last Hyena With Catbamboo and InTechnicolour @ The Louisiana Bristol

Last Hyena -
FFO: Mogwai, And So I Watch You From Afar, Alpha Male Tea Party
There’s been a Last Hyena-sized residence carved into the South West alternative scene for some years now. After kicking things off at Falmouth University and relocating to Bristol some years later, the trio have self-released two EPs (2017s Self-Titled and 2018’s I Remember The Future) to much acclaim.
The band launched themselves head-first into the UK live circuit with a co-headline tour alongside All The Best Tapes, a support tour with Hypophora and performances alongside scene stalwarts Delta Sleep, Tangled Hair, Thank You Scientist, Slow Crush, Poly-Math and many more, firmly cementing them as ones to watch from the latest crop of UK underground progressive bands.
Peddling proggy math tunes with a big ol' smile, their jagged, rhythmic music is jazz-fueled and cerebral, but never falls into the trap of taking itself too seriously.
Debut album 'How Soon Is Mars' OUT NOW via Stereobrain Records.
"Practically overflowing with jagged, arithmetical madness and serene post-rock" - Everything Is Noise
"If you’re a fan of clever, and complex music that, nonetheless, doesn’t fail to move you and speak to you, this release should be blipping on your radar right now." - Heavy Blog Is Heavy
Catbamboo -
FFO: CHON, Polyphia, Animals As Leaders
Originating out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Catbamboo is an eclectic progressive/math rock instrumental project with dynamic, hard-hitting riffs and groovy jazz-fusion melodic rhythms. Formed by Ky Williams and Fran Garcia in 2017, and following the joining of Collin Smith and Joel Turcotte in 2020, the band has taken their music to new lengths in creating their next full-length album set to release late 2021.
Having toured the entirety of the US many times over, as well as Japan and the UK. Catbamboo quickly made a name for themselves with early releases such as ‘Snickle Fritz’ ‘In The Wind’ and ‘Swindle’ gaining massive popularity online. Their spotify streams clock in at just over 225,000 - proving a dedicated fanbase is at work.
After the COVID-19 pandemic cut short their 2020 UK tour, the band plan on bringing their explosive brand of math-rock and excitable live show back to the UK summer 2021. Currently confirmed for ArcTanGent and Burn It Down festivals.
InTechnicolour -
FFO: Black Peaks, Biffy Clyro, Queens Of The Stone Age
Hailing from Brighton, are a riffy, groovy, stoner-rock band with a knack for creating a colourful song or two. Formed in 2015 through a want to play loud music through slightly broken amps, the basis of the band was formed. Comprised of members from the likes of Delta Sleep, LUO and Broker, here are a fully formed band of technically gifted musicians cutting loose and playing music that’s about as far removed from their day jobs as it’s possible to get, and doing it better than a good portion of their contemporaries.

Show starts at 7:30pm.
