Formed when vocalist Charlie Noordewier and guitarist Ben Andrew were in secondary school, The Native first took shape in classes for GCSE Music. Jamming in practice rooms instead of doing their coursework, the pair eventually turned those initial ideas into a dreamy folk-facing EP that was released in February 2018. When offers of live shows started rolling a few months later, they recruited bassist Tom Booth alongside Harry Youngs on keys. In July of that year, they won the chance to support Bastille at Plymouth’s Hoe Park, and with only a handful of practices under their collective belts, the baby-faced group played to over 8000 people. Now The Native are being championed by their local BBC Introducing and have picked up early support from the likes of Clash, EARMILK, and This Feeling. This exciting, young band have taken the West Country and beyond by storm and are certainly one to watch this year with more releases in the pipeline. "The Native's work has transformed them into one of the country's most sought after new groups" - Clash Magazine "Barely into their twenties, the quintet are producing tunes that are brimming with wisdom and touching on subjects that expose their talented songwriting skills" - Earmilk “Epic Indie To Make Your Heart Swell” - This Feeling
