The Louisiana presents performances from Bristol based pop artist Katriine with support from Felix and The Book Club.
Katriine:
Born and raised in Denmark, multi-instrumental producer and songwriter Katriine catapulted into the sonic hotbed of Bristol aged 18. Completing her Music Production degree in 2021, the promising young pop artist is carving out her space in the scene with her vibrant, upbeat sonic. Joining the Saffron Springboard programme in 2021, Katriine has continued her journey of self-discovery with her creative project—a collaborative mixtape “Out Loud”, which was released earlier in the year, focussed on exploring queer Black experiences. Music has always been a tool for Katriine to create an honest and safe space for her to learn and reflect on her feelings. You can expect a set of vulnerable, euphoric upbeat song from the Danish pop artist.
Felix:
Felix is a 21 year old, Bristol based singer/songwriter. He has previously been gigging as an acoustic act however has now got a full band that accompanies him. He will be releasing his debut EP in September. His heartfelt indie tracks combine uniquely passionate vocals with shoegazey guitar riffs and earworm synth hooks. Inspiration from the likes of The War on Drugs, Ben Howard, Maggie Rogers and Michael Kiwanuka.
The Book Club:
The Book Club consists of Jake Hilton and Emily ‘Em’ Price. Em, originally from Hertfordshire, is a classically-trained singer who has her start in music at The Purcell School before enrolling in a creative music technology course at The University of The West of England. Jake, from Buckinghamshire, has always had a strong love for music and first picked up the guitar at the age of four. He is currently a Music Production student at BIMM Manchester.
The pair were introduced at a National Youth Music Camp in Milton Keynes as early teenagers and came together to form The Book Club in late 2019. Creating a sound that includes elements of dreampop, indie rock and alt-pop, the duo have spent the past year honing their sound and have now reached a point where they are ready to share their craft with the world. Expect some ‘filthy bangers’ and euphoric, ethereal soundscapes from this dynamic duo.
