Jakabol live at The Louisiana, Bristol. Tuesday, 19th December 2023
End of Year Party / EP Launch
Fusing world folk influences with progressive textures and explosive riffs, Jakabol are an experimental music group from Bristol. They forge genre-bending, kaleidoscopic music inspired by the cinematic energy of bands like Mahavishnu Orchestra and psych revivalists King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
In 2022, Jakabol released their debut album, Jaded Temple – an uncompromising expression of the group’s unique and dynamic style. December 2023 will see the release of their follow up EP, Wyatt//Glass Pharaoh.
"As a debut album, one stands back in amazement at what they will develop into as Jaded Temple is totally breathtaking." - At The Barrier
"Bucolic one minute, psychotic the next." - The Guardian
For fans of: Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Gizzard, Black Sabbath, Portico Quartet, and other experimental, genre-defying musical experiences.
£5 early bird / £7 general release / £8 on the door
For this event Jakabol are pleased to be joined by special guests Intoku and Mammoth Toe.
Combining raw, emotive vocals, explosive hybrid drumming, powerful synths and soul-shaking basslines, Intoku blend an eclectic mix of influences. Through stark lyrical vulnerability, they explore life’s wonder, struggle, and the need to embrace both the sweet and sour.
With a small online footprint, the band wait to share their craft with you through immersive audio-visual experiences.
Bristol based post-rock oddballs Mammoth toe formed in 2016 over a love of delay ridden guitar, groovy bass lines and extinct mammals. After numerous hiatuses, they are back with a bigger sound.
Spanning multiple genres including grunge, metal, progressive rock and psychedelia, mammoth toe produce an eclectic sound from dreamy soundscapes and bouncy grooves to crushingly heavy riffs.
"The band juxtaposes these dreamy sounds with explosive energy that’s fused with rock-funk-progressiveness - damn sweet!" - Divide & conquer.
"From dreamy atmospheres through to crushingly heavy explosions, the trio create a sound that weaves masterful musicianship with a raw energy that keeps you on your toes" - Woodbox productions
