Guitarist Innes Sibun made his first album “That’s what the blues can do” with legendary producer Mike Vernon, the album was voted number 1 blues album in Ireland in 1991 when it was released & his band the Innes Sibun blues explosion went on to tour throughout the UK & Europe.
In 1993 he was approached to join Robert Plant’s band & toured with Robert throughout the U.S.A, South America & Europe meeting many of his blues heroes along the way & playing with amongst others, Buddy Guy, James Cotton & Stevie Ray Vaughn’s rhythm section Tommy Shannon & Chris Layton.
In 1995 he recorded the first of his solo album’s “Superstitious” for Viceroy records & went on to record another ten solo albums for labels such as Provogue, ZYX & Blues boulevard. The band continued to tour & opened for some great artists including Peter Green, Ronnie Earl, Johnny Winter, Steve Cropper & the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
In 2018 Innes teamed up with Detroit born singer Marcus Malone to form Malone Sibun & recorded the album “Come together” which was released just before the covid pandemic which unfortunately stopped the band going out on the road to promote it, the album was followed up in 2021 by an EP “Ashes to dust” which was recorded remotely at each musician’s home studio.
Innes has also toured with his own band in the U.S.A, Europe & Japan & also has played tribute to one of his earliest influences Rory Gallagher playing sold out tours in Holland & Germany, he was invited to play at the Iridium club in New York by Rory’s brother & manager Donal to celebrate the release of the posthumous Notes from San Francisco album.
In 2024 he released the instrumental album “The Preacher” to critical acclaim produced by Charlie Jones (Page & Plant/Goldfrapp/The Cult) on Sireena records.
New album set for release on Dixie frog records early 2027 with road band, Kevin O’Rourke on drums, Kevin Jefferies on bass & Ray Drury on Hammond organ & piano.
